57 hours

ok not going to dwell on that part of the story...i came across this story of trish, peter and leo via lovely morning. it's a really beautiful video of their child being born (not gory) in a birthing tub. this wonderful woman was in labor for 57 hours and looks cool as a cucumber. what an inspiration! check out the video here. also, i might think about a birthing tub next time around. if there is a next time around.

before and after

When i bought this house 4 years ago, this was the state of the room that would eventually become our babies room...and here we are now, fully renovated and waiting for baby. it's hard to take good pictures since the room is so small but you get the idea. it's amazing what a little vision, patience, sweat, tears, money and a great contractor can do! i made the curtains myself (thanks for jenna for helping pick out some great fabric), used the my grandmothers old bedroom furniture (reduce, reuse, recycle), hung some vintage art that i've collected over the years as well as some local artist's work (thanks melanie!), and splurged on monte rocker. i love every inch of this room. there are more pictures but i can't seem to get blogger to link up with my flickr account. this will have to be good enough for now...

breast feeding class

in our final preparations for baby, zach and i took a breast feeding class at the birth center on thursday night. the dolls that they had for practicing were the creepiest things i've ever seen.

party pooper

this passive aggressive note was found on a coffee maker in the free bin at circle thrift. or maybe it's not passive aggressive but it is super funny anyway...

cruel joke?

i can't believe we're getting another heat wave. this time in the hundreds. doesn't mother nature know i'm in the last few weeks of my pregnancy???? not ok!! at least we have air conditioning in our house this year. i am so so so grateful for that. but seriously from the insanely rough winter to the extreme summer we're having, i'm really considering moving to the pacific northwest or something.
