but of course, it wouldn't fit in my door. or through a window. we decided that the legs would have to be sawed off. unfortunately this wasn't a run of the mill ikea couch where the legs would unscrew. the problem was we didn't have any tools and we were on our lunch break so we had to get back to work. we decided to put it on it's side and tie it to my front steps railing with a giant orange extension cord and go back to work. later i called jeremy, explained the situation, and pleaded for help. he came over with his tools and, after much regret, sawed the legs off. success! we got it in the house. we sat on the busted couch with no legs for over a week.
finally on sunday, zach and i made our way to home depot to get brackets to attach the legs back on. we got home and attached all the corner brackets only to find that it was still a little wobbly. so yet another trip back to home depot to get more brackets. after a lot of sweating and cursing we got it figured out and i am now a proud owner of a couch from anthropologie. just don't look to closely at the legs. and beware when you come over...no belly flops or horsing around on the new couch. who knows if our bracket system really works!!
