ok, so one of my biggest pet peeves (and i have so many) is when people leave the dish sponge in the sink. i went into the kitchen at work today and was absolutely appalled to see the sponge, not only in the sink but soaking in a dirty bowl. this really takes the cake.

Ugh, that is the WORST!! I'm not a germophobe or anything, but that is appalling to me as well. Another sink-related pet peeve that I've just had to discuss with my husband is the idea that if there is a large bowl sitting in the sink, please do not place a plate on top of it, as then the sink is automatically full and now there is no room left for my moldy coffee cup that I plan to leave in there for the next week.
Oh, and sponge-related, I also insist on having two separate sponges for dishes and counters, which my mother unfortunately does not adhere to and it gives me the heebie jeebies whenever I go home. Of course, when your parents are in their sixties, there's plenty of other things they do that give you the heebie jeebies as well, so it's hardly worthwhile bringing up the sponge issue.
oh man. i HATEEEEEEEEEE THIS.
